If only the place had a decent restaurant, perhaps with open air tables by the river, we would probably have been there even more times and it would be a better place to take visitors to the Jacksonville area. It is best to visit in the winter when the weather is cooler and drier. If you have never seen elephants, zebras, giraffes, tigers, other big cats, gorillas, and orang-utangs and poisonous snakes in the wild, and most of us have not, then you and your kids are going to enjoy this zoo. The Bee Hotel is a great example of a beautiful piece of art that is functional as well, as it attracts bees.My family have been to this zoo 4 times, and the kids have been on trips from school too. There are pieces that are made from recycled materials, pieces from local artists, and art that animals that interact with as well.
